The role of a Mental Health First Aider in the workplace is to be a point of contact for an employee who is experiencing a mental health issues or emotional distress. This interaction could range from having an initial conversation, through to supporting the person to get appropriate help. Mental Health First Aiders are not trained to be therapists or psychiatrists but they can offer initial support through non-judgemental listening and guidance. Please check your local area for information on contacting your MHFA.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training Opportunity.

Mental Health First Aiders are employees who challenge stigma and encourage positive mental health in the organisation and for its workforce. They help the organisation to promote positive mental health and role model positive mental health working practices. They are available to have conversations with colleagues about mental health, and to signpost individuals to appropriate available support.
